A Day at the Park: Fujifilm Superia X-Tra 400

After I had proven to myself that the camera worked, I took the Pentax K1000 to a local park which used to be a train loading dock before the railroads closed their routes in Virginia Beach.

It looks like a postcard.
For this round of photos, I used another expired roll of film: Fujicolor Superia X-Tra 400.  It was the first roll I sent to The Darkroom, and I was blown away at the work done by the lab to make the expired film look decent.

Using expired film produces color shifts, changes in contrast, and increased grain.  This roll is less vibrant than fresh Superia, but it still did the job decently well.

I have absolutely no idea what this thing is supposed to be.
After going through this roll, I waited a few months to send it in, and so I sent it in with fresh rolls of Superia.  I definitely like Superia, but I've heard rumors that Fujifilm intends to discontinue the film, and so I don't want to get too attached to it if it indeed will be killed off soon.

Once again, I largely kept my shutter speed constant and adjusted my aperture for this roll.  It wasn't until a few rolls later that I switched to the equivalent of aperture priority and began adjusting my shutter speeds instead.
